An unmarried mother lives with her 12-year-old daughter in Sarajevo during the postwar period. Young Sara is bound by friendship to Samir that as her has no father. The two children often talk about the past that they imagine as glorious, of their respective parents. However, when Sara tackles this subject with her mother, Esma always takes the tangent.

JASMILA ZBANIC
Born in Sarajevo in 1974, Jamila Zbanic is a graduate of her native city’s Academy of Dramatic Arts, department for theater and film directing. Before filmmaking, she also worked as a puppeteer in the Vermontbased "Bread and Puppet" Theater and as a clown in a Lee De Long workshop. Since 1995, she has directed several short films, a selection of her films includes: Autobiography (1995), Love is (1998), Waiting for the Return of Mrs. Vildana (1999).
