Sonia, a young woman from Saint Petersburg leaves her family and boy friend
behind, to seek a better life outside Russia. With her head full of dreams she will make her way across Europe: from Russia to Portugal. But during this journey to hell, riddled with dark times and questions without answers, she ends up a victim of the white slave trade. This portrait offers us a new face of another Europe.

 

TERESA VILLAVERDE
Born in Lisbon (Portugal) in 1966 Teresa Villaverde started as an actress in A Flor do mar by J. Cesar Monteiro (1986). Then, she takes classes while being an assistanteditor assistant-director and co-scenario writer on several Portuguese films. She directs her first feature film Alex in 1991, followed by: Très Irmaos (1994), O Amor Nao Me Engana (1996) and Os Mutantes in 1998.
