1976 Ben Du Toit, a South African schoolteacher, lives with his wife and two children. The story takes place during the Apartheid movement that lasted from 1948 until 1993. The story begins where Ben's gardener, a black man, seeks his help while investigating the death of his son. Things change when Ben sees firsthand the brutality by his own race against blacks, particularly when he sees Gordon being tortured at the hands of the local police.

EUZHAN PALCY
Born in Martinique, Euzhan Palcy came to Paris, to learn French literature and cinema at Louis Lumière (Paris). In 1975, she meet François Truffaut her
« French Godfather ». She directed Sugar Cane Alley (Rue Cases Nègres) her first feature, won over 14 international awards. She became the first black woman director in Hollywood. After, she directed about ten features, and specially A Dry White Season (1988) with a great performance of Marlon Brando.
