LA FORCE DE L'ART - Voix de femmes en Afrique
by Claudine Pommier, Documentary, 51', 2007, Beta SP, CANADA

The idea of culture is in evolution, and is no longer a simple static stand on knowledge, values and practices shared and transmitted by a community. It is a dynamic reality. This film explores contemporary women’s issues, based on women who choose to be professional artists. They give their opinion and explore the stereotypes associated with their African background and their femininity. The film also explores the part, played by women artists that accept to take on the same challenging issues as women living on the African continent.
